About Mid EUROPE

Mid EUROPE is one of the most important wind band festivals in the world.

Mid EUROPE stands for stylistic variety in fascinating quality. Old and new, known and foreign, traditional and visionary, regional and international are artistically presented within the framework of the music week.

For more than two decades it has been the declared goal of Mid EUROPE to present the variety of (orchestral) brass music within the framework of an international festival, and to offer not only the guests but also the inhabitants of the Upper Enns Valley a high-quality cultural program on site. From year to year the promotion of young people is also a central concern.

These goals are pursued and also achieved in different ways - on the one hand by implementing events that attract the public, such as the LANGE NACHT or the Schladming TATTOO marching show, and on the other hand through projects such as the Kids in Concert, which provides a musical-pedagogical background, and the orchestra projects World Youth Wind Orchestra (for young adults from 18-30 years) and World Adult Wind Orchestra (from 30 years) - two orchestras composed of international participants (more than 10 nations).

The main festival activities are:

In the summer of 2024, the Mid EUROPE will visit Schladming and Haus im Ennstal for the 25nd time. From the 9th to the 13th of July the Mid EUROPE will once again bring a variety of musical styles, such as classical brass music, symphonic brass music, traditional Bohemian sounds, swing and rock and popular grooves to the stage. Here you can experience the different occupations in the region Schladming-Dachstein up close. Thousands of musicians from around 15 nations will once again be coming to present their skills to a wide audience, to exchange ideas with colleagues and to complete further training in the context of master classes and workshops.

Music enthusiasts, guests, friends: Everyone is invited to the high-caliber indoor, open-air and church concerts. Of course, star guests from the brass music scene will also be there again. The festival opens with a top class concert by the Bavarian Police Orchestra - a rousing concert with a goosebump feeling! Further highlights will be the LANGE NACHT on Thursday as well as Schladming TATTOO on Friday. Also very special experiences are the church concerts in Haus im Ennstal and the children's concert to join in.
