Marching Band and Honor Guards of the Taipei First Girls High School

Taipei First Girls High School prides itself with a team of glorious tradition. Our team consists of the marching band (established in 1959), the honor guards (established in 1963) and the color guards (established in 1998). Our team is highly selective; All our members are students with outstanding performance skills, academic achievements, and excellent conduct. We won first prize in the wind music competition for senior and vocational high schools in Taiwan many times. In addition to international performances, we are often invited to perform on the ceremony of Taiwan National Day, flag-raising ceremony on New Year’s Day, visits of the foreign guests, and important occasions. Therefore, we are well-known as a team of excellence an honor.

1990  Learned orchestra conducting with Professor George Mark in Konservatorium Wien University in Vienna; learned opera conducting with Reinhart Schwarz; learned trumpet with Richard Schwameis
1994  Back to Taiwan as a principal trumpeter and assistant conductor in Taipei Wind Orchestra
Held the position of a trumpeter in Taipei Philharmonic Orchestra, and a principal brass player in the orchestra of Taipei Philharmonic station
1996  Performed Haydn’s trumpet concerto with Taipei Wind Orchestra; being invited to perform the solo part of Shostakovich's No 1 piano concerto with the Moscow Academic chamber orchestra “Musica Viva” in December
1998  Led the wind bands of Tuchen elementary school, Chongcing Junior High School, and National Chiao Tung University in the National Music Contest; all the wind bands won the first place nationwide
2000  Entered the research institute of SooChow University, majoring in orchestra conducting 
      Led the wind band of National Chengchi University in the National Music Contest to win the second place nationwide
2001  Led the wind bands of Tuchen elementary school, Chen-Kuo Senior High School in the National Music Contest, and both the wind bands won the first place nationwide in March
In July, took over as the conductor of the wind band of the music department in Taipei National University of the Arts
2003  Being invited to conduct Taipei Wind Orchestra and perform with internationally famous saxophonist Nobuya Sugawa, including the concerto “Hero’s age” and Granada.
2004  In March, led Chongcing Junior High School to win the outstanding prize in the National Music Contest 
      In October, being invited by the friend Hsei-ping Deng to perform the solo part of “Ein Heldenleben” with Taipei Symphony Orchestra; performed Vivaldi Double Trumpet Concerto with Mr. Deng and Taipei Civic Symphony Orchestra 
2005  In March, led Da-An Junior High School to win the second place of outstanding prize in the National Music Contest; in April, conduct the Wings of the Angel Symphony Band for the third time; in May, performed Mahler’s Symphonie No.2 as the solo part of trumpet with Philharmonia Moment Musical
      Established Sound By Ourselves Wind Ensemble with friend Mr. Yuan Jhuang; in September, took over the Wind Band of Tian Mu Junior High School
In November, led several wind bands of junir high and elemantary schools to the Taipei Music Contest and won four first prizes; conducted Taipei Wind Orchestra at the 25th Anniversary Concert and performed four concertos with the trumpetor Anthony DiLorenzo
      In December, cooperated with Professor Tseng Hsiong and Tian Mu Junior High School, conducting Menotti’s opera Amahl and the Night Visitors
