Innviertler Flötenchor

A special sound experience is provided by an ensemble formation with an unusual instrumentation: the Innviertler Flötenchor is a project-related large flute ensemble with 20 flutists from the Upper Austrian Innviertel and the neighboring districts. Students and teachers of the Landesmusikschulwerk Oberösterreich play in this special constellation on all flutes of the flute family. From the smallest flute, the piccolo, to the well-known C flute, the alto flute and the bass flute, to the largest flute, the contrabass flute, all instruments of the flute family are played in this ensemble. The Innviertler Flötenchor is supported and complemented by a double bass, an electric bass, percussion and a vocal soloist.

The musical direction of this project ensemble has been in the hands of Bernadette Posch since the beginning. Lisa Penninger is responsible for the organization. Both are instrumental teachers in the subject flute at the Upper Austria Landesmusikschulwerk.

In addition to a few original compositions, the Innviertler Flötenchor uses mostly arrangements from various eras and arrangements from the brass band area.
