Innviertler Flötenchor

A special sound experience is provided by an ensemble formation with an unusual instrumentation: the Innviertler Flötenchor is a project-related large flute ensemble with 25 flutists from the Upper Austrian Innviertel and the neighbouring districts. Pupils and teachers from the Upper Austrian Music School make music in this special constellation on all the flutes of the flute family. From the smallest flute, the piccolo, to the well-known C flute, the alto flute and the bass flute, to the largest flute, the contrabass flute, all instruments of the flute family are played in this ensemble. The Innviertler Flötenchor is supported and complemented by a double bass, an electric bass, percussion and a vocal soloist.

The musical direction of this project ensemble is in the hands of Franz Öllinger. Lisa Penninger and Bernadette Posch are responsible for the organisation. All three are instrumental teachers of the flute at the Upper Austrian Music School.

In addition to a few original compositions, the Innviertler Flötenchor mostly uses arrangements from various epochs and arrangements from the field of wind music.
