WAWOP World Adult Wind Orchestra Project
What is WAWOP?
The World Adult Wind Orchestra Project (WAWOP) is a music project for experienced wind orchestra musicians from around the world who wish to experience a challenging, social, and enriching week of music-making at Mid EUROPE.
WAWOP is designed for musicians aged 32 and older (no upper age limit). Band leaders, music teachers, members of marching bands, and music lovers who wish to perform at the highest level with renowned conductors and composers are encouraged to apply. WAWOP runs concurrently with the World Youth Wind Orchestra Project (WYWOP) for musicians aged 18–32. We offer an inspiring week of music and opportunities to enjoy the Mid-EUROPE Festival, the Austrian Alps, and local culture. The Mid-EUROPE Festival is scheduled for July 13–17, 2027. For WAWOP participants, the music week begins on July 11 with arrival.

Questions and Answers
WYWOP and WAWOP are special projects of the Mid EUROPE festival in Schladming. They bring musicians from different countries together, with a focus on making music, learning from each other and sharing a passion for wind music.

WYWOP stands for World Youth Wind Orchestra Project, while WAWOP stands for World Adult Wind Orchestra Project. Both projects offer musicians the opportunity to perform together in an international wind orchestra.
WYWOP is aimed at young musicians, while WAWOP gives adult musicians the opportunity to join an international wind orchestra. Specific musical requirements may apply.
You can look forward to intensive rehearsals, musical training, and making music together with participants from various countries. The highlight of the project is the presentation of the program you’ve developed together as part of Mid EUROPE.
