What is WYWOP?
The World Youth Wind Orchestra Project (WYWOP) has been a central part of the Mid EUROPE International Wind Music Festival since it was first held in 1997. The project offers musicians aged 18 to 32 from around the world the opportunity to come to Schladming to experience an intensive week of making music together, forming new friendships, and personal growth. For participants, being part of WYWOP is a wonderful musical and cultural experience, during which they have the opportunity to work with international conductors, composers, and section leaders.
WYWOP’s mission is to unite musicians through the universal language of music.

Questions and Answers
WYWOP and WAWOP are special projects of the Mid EUROPE festival in Schladming. They bring musicians from different countries together, with a focus on making music, learning from each other and sharing a passion for wind music.
You can look forward to intensive rehearsals, musical training, and making music together with participants from various countries. The highlight of the project is the presentation of the program you’ve developed together as part of Mid EUROPE.
WYWOP is aimed at young musicians, while WAWOP gives adult musicians the opportunity to join an international wind orchestra. Specific musical requirements may apply.
WYWOP stands for World Youth Wind Orchestra Project, while WAWOP stands for World Adult Wind Orchestra Project. Both projects offer musicians the opportunity to perform together in an international wind orchestra.
