Music Knows No Borders

The festivities get underway at noon with acclaimed ensembles such as Trachtenkapelle Judendorf-Strassengel, Ramsauer Jugendklang, the Xi'an Beilin Tiewu Primary School Wind Orchestra from China, Lumpen Brass, Raaber Blechbuam, and other groups. From traditional wind music to exotic sounds from distant lands – this day's musical range is as broad and virtuosic as its international participants.
The afternoon features a varied program at congress Schladming and the church in Haus im Ennstal, where orchestras from Belgium, Austria, and Germany are sure to captivate audiences with their impressive performances. One particular standout will be the youth orchestra from Wetzlar Music School – a vibrant testament to the cultural connection between the two cities.
A festival parade from congress Schladming to Wetzlarplatz, accompanied by local wind musicians and the Upper Austria Military Band, marks the highlight of the day. It celebrates not just the music, but also the 50-year partnership between Schladming and the city of Wetzlar. It is a symbolic event that underscores the cross-border ties between the two communities.
The inclusive band "Mundwerk" proves that music not only connects cities but, above all, people. Their performance demonstrates that music overcomes barriers and brings people together, regardless of background or skill set. The various orchestras and wind bands together create a harmonious soundscape that showcases the universal language of music in all its glory.
The evening's crowning conclusion features Big Band Schladming on the main square and Schleidatrauma at the Wetzlarerplatz. The infectious rhythms of these two bands promise a lively atmosphere that will keep the audience engaged until the final note.
Through this anniversary event, Mid EUROPE once again highlights the fact that music connects and knows no borders.
