The WYWOP has existed since 1997 and takes place every year as part of the music festival Mid Europe, in the mountain town of Schladming in Austria. During a rehearsal week in Schladming, high-quality compositions for symphonic wind orchestra with internationally recognized conductors will be rehearsed.
We are thrilled for WAWOP 2023! The World Adult Wind Orchestra Project (WAWOP) will host accomplished wind band musicians from around the world during Mid EUROPE 2023 in Schladming for a challenging, social, and enriching week of music making.
The children's concert, sponsored by Volksbank Schladming, traditionally takes place on a Wednesday of the Mid EUROPE Week under a certain motto. This year the motto on 12 July 2023 from 9.30 a.m. at Congress Schladming will be "musical first aid" with the ambulance Österreichisches Rotes Kreuz Schladming and the WYWOP orchestra.
