What is Mid EUROPE?

Mid Europe is one of the most important wind and brass music festivals in the world.

It is here that old and new, familiar and unfamiliar, traditional and progressive, regional and international music styles congregate. All this stimulates an extensive and galvanising interaction that generates further development and provides the basis for continuous quality enhancements. Both regional and international developments are taken into account. The festival thus represents a source of influence on musical evolution with regard to both performers and audience. All this means that Mid Europe provides extensive insights into the world of wind and brass music.

The main festival activities are:

In the summer of 2019, the Mid EUROPE will visit Schladming and Haus im Ennstal for the 22nd time. From the 9th to the 14th of July the Mid EUROPE will once again bring a variety of musical styles, such as classical brass music, symphonic brass music, traditional Bohemian sounds, swing and rock and popular grooves to the stage. Here you can experience the different occupations in the region Schladming-Dachstein up close. Thousands of musicians from around 15 nations will once again be coming to present their skills to a wide audience, to exchange ideas with colleagues and to complete further training in the context of master classes and workshops.

Music enthusiasts, guests, friends: Everyone is invited to the high-caliber indoor, open-air and church concerts. Of course, star guests from the brass music scene will also be there again. The festival opens with a top class concert by the Bavarian Police Orchestra - a rousing concert with a goosebump feeling! Further highlights will be the LANGE NACHT on Thursday as well as the Wetzlar concert in 2019, where more than 60 professional musicians from the twin cities of Wetzlar will provide international flair. Also very special experiences are the church concerts in Haus im Ennstal and "Kids on Fire" - the children's concert to join in.
