Mundwerk

Mundwerk - the special band

Mundwerk is made up of 10 musicians with disabilities who play music professionally at the Pius Institute of the Sisters of the Cross in Bruck/Mur together with their two accompanists. Depending on talent and interest, there is the opportunity to learn various instruments and receive vocal training. Lyrics and songs are worked out independently. Office work is also undertaken as part of the music workshop. Of course, what the band loves most is being able to inspire new people with their songs and good humor at music gigs.

In the process of their career, they have already played at the EU Parliament in Brussels, represented Austria at the European Songfestival in Ireland and produced 3 CDs. The school tour has also become an integrative showcase project that reaches and inspires many people and sensitizes pupils, teachers and parents to the topic of disability.

The band also performs around 60 gigs a year and entertains guests at small and large events throughout Austria - and sometimes even beyond. Mundwerk entertains its guests throughout the evening with music from various genres, Styrian folk music and songs written by the band itself.

The special band Mundwerk has developed a creative music training program in which individual solutions are developed for individuals. The aim is to offer people with cognitive impairments the opportunity to pursue an activity that meets the requirements of a job, but also does justice to their artistic talents and abilities.

... a music workshop with the ambition to understand music as a profession!
