The Jinfan Wind Orchestra of Fengtai No.1 Primary School in Beijing

The Jinfan Wind Orchestra of Fengtai No.1 Primary School in Beijing was established in 1992 and currently has over 200 members. The orchestra has long-term collaborations with more than 10 professional musicians from the People's Liberation Army Band, the PLA Symphony Orchestra, and National First-Class Conductors, who serve as artistic advisors. In 2004, the orchestra was officially designated as a "Jinfan Wind Orchestra" by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission.

In recent years, the orchestra has performed in prestigious venues such as the Beijing Concert Hall, Zhongshan Music Hall, the National Library Concert Hall, and the National Centre for the Performing Arts. Through its "Jinfan Day" initiative, the orchestra also engages in community outreach, performing for military units and under-resourced schools to promote music education, earning widespread acclaim. The orchestra has toured Hong Kong, Macao, Japan, the UK, the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Sweden, fostering artistic exchanges with partner schools.

In 2009, the orchestra won the gold medal in the elementary school division at the 3rd "China Cup" National Non-Professional Outstanding (Marching) Wind Orchestra Exhibition. It has also been awarded the title of "Model Orchestra" in the elementary school division at the 9th, 12th, 14th, and 17th National Outstanding (Symphonic) Wind Orchestra Exhibitions. Additionally, it has repeatedly claimed first prizes at the Beijing Student Art Festival, showcasing the Jinfan Wind Orchestra’s artistic vitality and high performance standards.

Conductor: Zhang Yanli

Zhang Yanli graduated with a major in Musicology from Beijing Institute of Education. She currently serves as the conductor of the Jinfan Wind Orchestra at Fengtai No.1 Primary School in Beijing's Fengtai District. With years of experience in orchestral education, she has frequently guided students in municipal and district-level performances. She successfully organized the orchestra's 25th and 30th anniversary concerts, led cultural exchange visits to the United States, Canada, and Australia, and secured a gold medal for the orchestra at the municipal-level instrumental performance competition of the Student Art Festival. Her work has earned widespread acclaim from various sectors.
